Drug charges laid against three Nipigon-area youth
Ontario Provincial Police in Nipigon have laid drug-related charges against three youth.
According to a news release, officers arrived at Nipigon-Red Rock District High School in Red Rock, Ont., Friday, and observed a young person who appeared to be selling drugs outside the school.
An investigation led to multiple charges for a male youth from Nipigon. He has been charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams, as well as with trafficking and possession for the purpose of trafficking. He has also been charged with breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The young man is being held in custody at a detention facility in Thunder Bay pending a bail hearing.
Two other boys, one from Red Rock, Ont., and one from Hurkett, Ont., have also been charged with possession of marijuana under 30 grams. Both will appear in a Nipigon court on December 3, 2013.
