David Wilson charged in death of Robert Barbeau

A Thunder Bay man wounded in a stabbing incident last week has died in hospital.

Police report 48-year-old Robert David Barbeau succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at the Health Sciences Centre.

Barbeau was rushed to hospital last Thursday after being hurt in an incident outside his apartment building on McLaughlin Street.

Police initially charged 48-year-old David Charles Wilson with aggravated assault, but today the charge was upgraded to second degree murder. Police say Wilson lived in the same apartment building as Barbeau.

Wilson remains in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for today.
