Coast guard helps boaters in trouble on Lake Superior

Two people on board a boat were helped by the coast guard on Lake Superior on Friday.

The Canadfian Coast Guard came to the assistance of two people on board a boat on Lake Superior on Friday afternoon.

The Canadian Forces Rescue Centre in Trenton said the coast guard vessel Cape Chaillon was dispatched after a mayday call came in from just south of Thunder Bay.

Passengers on an 8-metre powered pleasure craft reported the boat was taking on water.

The Coast Guard said the Cape Chaillon arrived on scene and escorted the boat to the Thunder Bay Yacht Club.
