Thunder Bay city councillor Ken Boshcoff says he will ask the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition board of directors to look at changing the organization’s open bar policy.

He said he'll bring up the issue at the next board meeting, in just over a week.

"Now that it's become something of public concern, the public wants to know what's happening with this and there's probably a way of doing this to confirm in the public's mind that it is being addressed,” he said.

Boshcoff said he believes the board will accept the position that the bar should be shut down.

“I don't think it will be something that will encounter much resistance because the board had already been thinking about that kind of stuff.”
