A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a Thunder Bay man in connection with a sexual assault on a youth

A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a Thunder Bay man wanted in connection with a sexual assault on a child.

Thunder Bay police requested the warrant for 62-year-old Arthur Joseph Lyons, who has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and breach of probation, Constable Julie Tilbury said.

"He has been evading the police for a number of days now," she said. "As a result, for the safety of the community, a Canada-wide warrant has been requested and issued and we are putting this out to the community."

Tilbury said the victim of the assaults is a Thunder Bay youth.

Police began its investigation on July 25.

Thunder Bay police are requesting that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Arthur Joseph Lyons contact them at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 623-8477.
