Manitouwadge boil water advisory lifted
Health unit testing shows water okay for consumption
A boil water advisory affecting residents of Manitouwadge, Ont., has been lifted.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) lifted the advisory late last week after tests showed the township's water is safe for consumption.
The advisory was put in place on June 11 after a backup generator failed during a planned power outage, which caused a loss of pressure in the water system.
In an interview on June 12, a TBDHU health official told CBC News that a loss of pressure can allow contaminants to enter the water system.
