Arrest made in Thunder Bay hit-and-run
38-year-old cyclist remains in critical condition at Thunder Bay hospital
Thunder Bay police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run that occurred Tuesday night near the corner of Algoma and John Streets.
The incident happened at about 6:40 p.m. when a mini-van crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a cyclist.
A 37-year-old man was arrested this morning in the courtyard of a housing complex on Limbrick Street.
Police report he was driving southbound, on the wrong side of the road, until he swerved into a parking lot in the 200 block of South Algoma Street and intentionally ran over a 38-year-old man on a bicycle, police report.
The man has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, and failing to remain at the scene. He is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
The cyclist remains in hospital in critical condition.
