Armed robber scared off by restaurant staff
Thunder Bay restaurant employees tried to subdue man with knife
Thunder Bay police are searching for a man who tried to rob a restaurant at knife-point in the south core on the weekend.
Police said the man went into the Tokyo House on West Arthur Street just after 9 p.m. Sunday.
He brandished a large knife and demanded money from the cash register.
Employees tried to subdue the man but weren't successful.
Police said he was last seen running through a parking lot toward Donald Street.
No one was injured.
The man is described as being about 27 years old, thin build, wearing a long sleeve dark coloured shirt and pants.
Police earlier said they had been asked not to reveal the name of the restaurant, but late Monday afternoon they disclosed it was the Tokyo House.
