North Bay Health Unit has lifted drinking water restrictions for most of the residents who draw their water from Trout Lake.
Earlier this week, they were told not to drink or wash in the water after a truck carrying formaldehyde flipped over on a nearby highway, killing the driver.
Some of the chemical leaked into the lake and people living on a nearby street were evacuated from their homes.
Water restrictions are still in place for people living on Silver Lady Lane. They still cannot use the water for drinking, cooking, showering, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth.
People are also advised not to swim, do water sports or let their pets and livestock near the water.
There are still many residents who are still unable to return to their homes on that street due to the spill and are waiting for the city to give them the go ahead to return.
