Teen charged with stunt driving in parents' car
A teenage driver has been charged with stunt driving, after police allege that he was caught driving nearly two-and-a-half times the speed limit.
A Greater Sudbury Police news release says that an officer stopped the driver on Valleyview Road on Saturday after the vehicle was allegedly observed travelling at 96 km/h in a 40 km/h zone.
Police say the driver was an 18-year-old male with a G2 licence. The car belonged to his parents.
The car was impounded for seven days and the driver lost his licence for seven days, police say.
The driver is due to appear in court on Jan. 21.
