Fire officials in Timmins say a school board building fire in the Schumacher area has all but completely destroyed that building.
Timmins Deputy Fire Chief Gerry Sabourin said crews responded to the call at the English District School Board Ontario North East at about 3:20 a.m. Friday on Croatia Avenue.
No injuries have been reported.
More than 40 firefighters remain on the scene and the cause of the fire is now under investigation. The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in.
Sabourin warned there will be a significant amount of smoke as a result of the fire today. People are being asked to stay away from the area.
