Sudbury city council is wasting no time in discussing whether or not it wants bears hunted within city limits this spring.
City councillor Claude Berthiaume is tabling a motion at Tuesday night's meeting, calling for the province's pilot program to be welcomed.
The government recently announced it wants to try out bear hunting for the next two springs, but only in and around the five major cities in northern Ontario.
The province wants the city and town councils in those areas to pass resolutions supporting the spring bear hunt.
North Bay city council will also be discussing the issue at its meeting Monday night.
