Toronto truck driver charged after blowing 2.5 times over limit in Blind River
A 56-year-old trucker from Toronto will be facing impaired driving charges after blowing 2.5 times the legal limit Monday night.
Ontario Provincial Police say that officers from the East Algoma- Blind River detachment responded to a traffic complaint about a tractor trailer heading west on Highway 17, just outside of Blind River, Ont.
Police stopped the truck before it entered the town, and after speaking with the driver, determined he had been drinking alcohol. Police said they also found an open bottle of liquor inside the vehicle.
The driver is scheduled to appear in a Blind River court July 13.
The OPP is continuing its investigation into this incident and is requesting anyone who may have encountered this vehicle to please contact the East Algoma OPP Detachment.
