Eat Local Sudbury is hoping a new fundraising campaign can help it continue to expand store and support northern farmers.

The not-for-profit co-op launched the "One Bite at a Time" campaign earlier this week to raise $25,000.

Organizers created a stop-animation video they hope will go viral in support of the goal.

Managing director Peggy Baillie said the group is trying to capitalize on "crowd-funding."

Through websites like, people can donate directly to the cause.

"The money will allow us to continue doing the programming," said Baillie. "[While increasing] the variety of local products and launching our online delivery system."

She says the campaign is running for the next six weeks.
