Fire, sudden death being investigated by Wawa police

Provincial police in Wawa are investigating a fire and sudden death in Missinabie.

Provincial police in Wawa are investigating a fire and sudden death in Missinabie.

OPP report that, on Friday afternoon, a fire crew went to a call on Fournier Street, where a house was fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread to two nearby seasonal homes.

Police say they were told that a woman was unaccounted for.

On Saturday, a body was found inside the burned-out residence.

No name is being released pending identification and a post-mortem exam in Sudbury tomorrow.

The investigation is ongoing.
