Donald James McDonell dies in Hwy 17 rock-cut crash

Donald James McDonell of Elliot Lake has been killed in a motor vehicle accident on Highway 17 near the Vermillion Bridge, provincial police report.

They say at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday, a car left the roadway, hit a rock cut and rolled over.

McDonell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. The 24-year-old was pronounced dead the the scene.

The highway was reopened to traffic early Monday morning.
