When North Bay's Thom Stewart called CBC Sudbury's talkback line this week, the message machine recorded more than just his question about a riveting sunset that made the sun look like "a strange red ball in the sky."

It also recorded a conversation between Stewart and his wife Marie, unbeknownst to them. What you hear in the following audio clip might delight you:

The Stewarts have been married for 53 years. Thom said they met when he was 14, married at 19, have four children, 12 grandchildren, and one great grand child.

CBC News obtained his permission to air this segment.
