The Radio and Television News Directors Association handed out its annual awards for outstanding broadcast journalism Thursday night in Toronto.

CBC Sudbury Reporter Megan Thomas was recognized with two awards for her comprehensive look at the Oxycontin addiction crisis in Sudbury, called Sudbury: Addicted City.

Thomas’ week-long series aired last fall, garnering the Dave Rogers Award for Long Feature, and the Dan McArthur Award for in-depth and investigative work.
