It's now anticipated a Sudbury murder trial will be in the hands of the jury on Friday.

The lawyers are expected to make their final submissions Thursday in the second degree murder trial of 20-year-old Blake Lapierre.

Final submissions were expected today, but lawyers and the judge have decided to take another day to hammer out some issues.

The jury is now expected to be called back tomorrow for the lawyers to give final arguments.

Lapierre is charged in connection with the stabbing death of Justin Dagenais at a pit party in August of 2012.

He is also facing two assault charges relating to an altercation with Brandon Dockery the same night.

The trial has heard testimony for the last four weeks, and the judge is expected to instruct the jury Friday. Jurors will deliberate until they reach a verdict.
