Attempted murder, forcible confinement charges in Kirkland Lake
The incident happened at a hotel on the Trans Canada Highway
A British Columbia man is facing several charges after this weekend, including attempted murder.
On July 15, Kirkland Lake OPP were called to a hotel on Government Road East in Kirkland Lake just after 1 a.m.
The call was about a "physical altercation."
Several police groups were involved in the call, including OPP crime unit members from Kirkland Lake, South Porcupine, Kap and Almaguin Highland detachments. Forensic identification services from North Bay and South Porcupine, the North East Region Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit from Kirkland Lake also helped out.
A 39 year old man had serious injuries and was transported in an ambulance to Kirkland and District Hospital for medical care.
A man from Qualicum Beach, BC has been charged with attempted murder, forcible confinement, possession of a controlled substance and fail to comply with probation order.
