4 Toronto residents charged in Sudbury drug investigation
Four Toronto residents face charges in connection with a recent drug investigation in Sudbury, Ont., in which police seized thousands of dollars in cash and some cocaine.
According to a news release from the Greater Sudbury Police, officers executed a search warrant Friday at a residence in downtown Sudbury.
Police arrested three men and seized cocaine, more than 50 OxyContin pills and cash.
A second search warrant was executed at a local motel as part of the investigation. A separate traffic stop led to the arrest of a man and a woman. Additional drugs and money were seized by police in those parts of the investigation.
In total, police say the combined value of the drugs seized is $17,975.
Police say the total amount of cash seized was $5,625.
Three Toronto men have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime, police say. A 29-year-old Toronto woman faces the same charges.
A 53-year-old man from the Sudbury area has also been charged, though police did not immediately identify the charges he is facing.
