Blistering heat is cloaking most of Canada this weekend and the hot, dry weather is causing major problems from heat alerts to wildfires.

In Edmonton, residents are dealing with a smokey haze as two dozen firest burn across northern Alberta.

Fires are also cropping up in the Ottawa area, which is sweltering in 30-degree temperatures and no rain this month.

Meanwhile, Toronto has declared an extreme heat alert for the third time in a month, temperatures will be in the sizzling 30s with high UV index.
