The travel agency that promoted direct flights from Newfoundland to London, England, is back, this time promising that the proper operating licences are in place to offer the service.

Go Travel Flights booked passengers for flights from St. John's to Gatwick Airport in London last year, but the company had to refund the money because the Finnish airline it contracted, Finnair, didn't have permission to fly that route.

Hugh Boyle, the chair of Go Travel Flights, told CBC News that won't be a problem this time because the airline it has contracted this time, Monarch Airlines, has the proper documentation.

"They have permission to fly to Canada," Boyle said. "They have licencing approval of Transport Canada, so the repeat of last year certainly won't happen because they have the licencing requirements."

The company started advertising the flights, which won't begin until June of 2010, this week.

Two other airlines, Air Canada and Astraeus Airlines, cancelled similar service, saying that there was not enough demand to support the flights year-round.
