Several downtown intersections that were closed Friday morning in downtown Ottawa following an apparent gas leak on Kent Street have now been reopened.

Police from several agencies had blocked intersections near Queen, Bank, Kent and Albert streets.

The leak appeared to have happened somewhere between the 12th and 14th floors at the Place de Ville's Tower B at 112 Kent St.

That tower was evacuated just after 8 a.m. ET, but employees were let back into the building at around 11 a.m.

The gas company continues to investigate.
