Another eyewitness has come forward to report seeing a missing Ontario teenager the day he ran away from home after his parents revoked his video game privileges.
A person has told police they spotted Brandon Crisp heading away from Barrie, Ont., on Oct. 13, on the trail between Barrie and Orillia, the Barrie Examiner reported.
"That changes the focus, because it puts him farther beyond the original point where he was last seen," Barrie police Sgt. Dave Goodbrand told the Examiner. "It helps us better develop that timeline. This witness points him between the 3rd and 4th lines, which is farther up the trail."
But Goodbrand said it doesn't mean there will be a new search because he was spotted within the original search grid.
Crisp left his home after his parents said he couldn't play Xbox anymore because he had become obsessed with the video game Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. He has not been seen since.
Police have said it's possible that Brandon is no longer in the country. Investigators have said they are not discounting reports that some of Brandon's gaming friends were in the United States.
Brandon's parents have been urging police to look for more clues in their son's laptop and Xbox hard drive.
His father Steve Crisp has said he is convinced the key to his son's disappearance lies with someone he met online while playing the game, and that police need to put more effort into their online investigation.
OPP's cyber-crime unit is currently analyzing the video game unit.
