Mothers of slain Toronto men appeal for public's help

Karen Ellis, left, and Susan Martin appeal to the public for information about the killings of their sons. (CBC)The mothers of two Toronto men shot to death on June 13 have issued an emotional plea to the public for information they hope will lead to an arrest in the killings.
Dylan Ellis and Oliver Martin, both 25, were gunned down on June 13, hit by a spray of gunfire as they sat in a black Range Rover parked in a residential area of Richmond St. W., near Bathurst.
The women were surrounded by supporters who wept during the media briefing at police headquarters.
Susan Martin spoke about her son's love of the city and how he felt "happy, alive and safe."
"He was shot in the heart. The person who did this walked to the front of the car and shot through the glass at Oliver, who had his seatbelt on and was trapped.
"I know there are people out there with information. They must come forward. We need to take back the good," she said.
Karen Ellis also pleaded for information about the crime.
"Please, please come forward, call Crime Stoppers, call any police station, get in touch with the investigating officers, just get the information to those who will be able to help us use it to help solve the crime," she pleaded.
"Somewhere out on the streets of Toronto the person who did this is still around. They're capable of more violence," Ellis said.
The only possible suspect is a man seen riding away from the scene of the shootings on a mountain bike. Police say they believe whoever was responsible for the shooting is "familiar with the area" around Niagara and Bathurst streets.
