A southern Ontario man caught last year abusing a child live on the internet pleaded guilty to seven charges Monday.

The 39-year-old St. Thomas man pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults against his daughter — who was three at the time of the first assault and four at the time of the second— three charges of making child pornography, one charge of possession of child pornography and one of distribution of child pornography.

An undercover Toronto police officer witnessed the abuse online last year and notified police in St. Thomas, who arrested the man.

A sentencing hearing has been set for Dec. 19.

The man cannot be named in order to protect the identity of his daughter.
