"I had to go to the police station where I had an appointment at 9 p.m. to begin the process of being arrested," Swanson told the magazine.
Swanson was released on $500 bail later that night.
The charges stemmed from a scuffle that occurred in front of Eisler's children while Swanson was accompanying Eisler, 44, on a scheduled parental visit.
No further details were immediately available about O'Brien's allegations against Swanson.
However, Swanson alleges O'Brien attacked her. A representative for Swanson says the actress plans to press charges against O'Brien for alleged assault.
Swanson also said the police photographed an array of bruises on her upper body, which she said would document her claim that she was assaulted by O'Brien.
Eisler met Swanson in 2006 when they both appeared on the reality television show Skating with Celebrities.Eisler left O'Brien, then pregnant, to be with Swanson.
O'Brien and Eisler officially separated on Nov. 30. Two weeks later; their second child was born.
Eisler and Swanson had their first child in February 2007.
