Two more witnesses testified Monday about Kelly Ellard's role in the murder of Reena Virk.

Ellard has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge in the death of the 14-year-old from Victoria, in 1997.

Seven years later two young adults were once again telling a court what they know of the murder.

Laura Taylor, now 20, was 14 on the night Reena Virk died. Taylor says she knew Kelly Ellard as an acquaintance. On the night in question she ran into a couple of other teenagers who bragged about beating Reena Virk earlier that evening.

Taylor said people were talking about what happened to Virk at school on Monday. She says she was standing only about a foot away from Kelly Ellard when Ellard told another person she had gone back a second time with Warren Glowatski. Taylor says Ellard in a very casual tone described how she stomped on Virk's face, put her foot on her head and held it underwater while she smoked a cigarette.

Earlier in the day, Candace Tanner, 20, told the court about running into Ellard later on the evening of the attack. She says when she asked Ellard why she was all wet, Ellard said she had been in the water for about 10 minutes. Tanner asked Ellard, why? Ellard simply said: "She was in the water and didn't come back up."

Ellard has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Her lawyers have been attacking the credibility of the witnesses pointing out false statements and omissions in previous statements to police and the court.

In most cases, the witnesses say their memory is better now that it was in 1997. In some cases they say they were scared in 1997 and didn't want to implicate their friends.
