Canada is exporting high-tech trash that could pose a health hazard in poorer countries.

But Environment Canada official John Arseneau says because the computers and printers leave Canada as machinery, there is no problem. "As a whole product, it is not considered hazardous waste," he said.

Other countries, however, do consider it hazardous.
