RCMP have arrested a man who escaped from a federal prison in Oregon along with his wife in Vancouver.

Acting on a tip from the United States Marshals Service, RCMP arrested Timothy W. Ehrmantrout and Jodie Lee Crockett at a coffee house Friday.

Ehrmantrout, 35, is being held in Vancouver pending extradition to the U.S.

Since his escape last November, U.S. marshals had tracked Ehrmantrout and Crockett to Mexico and England. Authorities were not able to catch up with the couple until they returned to North America and settled in Vancouver.

Ehrmantrout had been serving a 14-month sentence for violating his federal probation for a mail and bank fraud conviction in Helena, Montana. Crockett will face charges of concealing an escaped prisoner and being an accessory in the escape.
