The investigation into September's crash of Swissair Flight 111 is being put on hold, allowing those involved a brief holiday with their families.

The approximately 100 investigators will take a break over Christmas and will go back to work in the new year. Vic Gerden, lead investigator with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada, said they've been working seven days a week for almost four months.

The RCMP says it has identified all 229 victims of the crash of Swissair Flight 111.

Police labs across the country have been busy since the crash doing dental, fingerprint and DNA profiles.

Investigators who are inspecting the wreckage say they have now recovered about 84 per cent of the plane from the ocean floor off Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia.

Efforts are being focused on tracing the source of a fire in the front section of the jet.
