Shots fired at U.S. capitol

Shots have been fired at the Capitol building in Washington D.C. Police say two Capitol police officers have been wounded.

"We have two officers injured. I can confirm there was a shooting," Capitol Police Officer Vito Raymond said.

Tourists and visitors were ushered out the Capitol, and authorities strung crime scene tape around an entrance on the Capitol Plaza side of the building.

Reports say at least six shots were fired. A lone suspect has reportedly been taken into custody. The suspect was apparently wounded.
