Stormy weather across central Alberta has spawned reports of tornadoes, while one twister was confirmed to have touched down in southern Saskatchewan.

Meteorologist Louis Kohanyi with Environment Canada says they received calls about tornadoes touching down in Alberta, west of Didsbury and near Halkirk.

In Saskatchewan, tornadoes were reported southwest of Watrous and southwest of Quill Lake. Environment Canada confirmed one tornado touched down near Davidson.

Witnesses reported seeing a roof torn off a house, trees thrown around, a barn damaged and trees stripped of their leaves.
