Rail cars came off the track on the Hudson Bay Railway line into Churchill Wednesday night, just 30 km away from the site of another derailment on July 12.
Seven cars came off the tracks Wednesday night. Grain spilled from two of them, closing the line.
No one was hurt in the incident, but VIA Rail has flown some stranded passengers out of Thompson, the nearest station.
Omnitrax, which owns Hudson Bay Railway, and operates the trackage, expects to have the line cleared by midnight Thursday night.
