A Warman teen pleaded guilty this morning to an attack that left a 13-year-old schoolmate with stab wounds to her throat, stomach, and leg last fall.

Neither teen can be named because of their ages.

The boy, who was also 13 years old at the time, had originally been charged with attempted murder. This morning, he pleaded to a lesser charge of aggravated assault.

He'll be back in court Sept. 9 for sentencing. In the interim, a pre-sentence report and secondary violence risk assessment report have been ordered. The boy is not in custody.

No motive was given for the attack.

The assault happened on a September evening in an alley behind the victim's home in Warman.
