Three outlying Saskatoon neighbourhoods are getting accelerated bus service to the downtown in July.
And, in September, the same neighbourhoods will get direct routes to the University.
"Saskatoon is a city on the move and the new direct routes will provide an attractive transportation alternative that ias competitive with the private vehicle. The direct service will also be more attractive to potential riders who do not consider transit as a way to commute," said Transit Manager Bob Howe.
The south-east neighbourhoods are Lakeview, Lakeridge and Lakewood. The direct routes will halve the travel time downtown for riders, to less than 30 minutes.
The regular routes out of the neighbourhoods will also continue to serve riders.
The new routes will be reviewed in a year.
