Three adults and a youth are in custody after police spotted a stolen SUV in the city's north end Monday night.

The suspects took off from the SUV after police cornered it in a cul-de-sac on Columbia Drive. This triggered a foot chase through the neighbourhood.

Police dogs picked up the trail of two suspects right away. A 20-year-old man and 16-year-old woman were arrested – but not without a fight. They were both treated for dog bites.

Another two suspects, a 21-year-old man and 18-year-old woman, were arrested a short time later.

Police found a sawed-off firearm at the scene.

The 20-year-old man is also facing charges in connection with a home invasion on July 26. That incident sent a 37-year-old man to hospital with stab wounds.

The young man is facing assault and weapons charges in relation to that incident.
