2 men charged after Saskatoon businesses robbed with bats, pipes

Two men are facing charges after two businesses were robbed early Friday morning.

No one was hurt, money and tobacco products seized by police

Two men are facing charges after two businesses were robbed early Friday morning.

At around 4:30 a.m. CST, Saskatoon police say two men walked into a business on the 100 block of Assiniboine Drive and demanded money. Police say the men were wearing masks and carrying baseball bats and metal pipes.

Twenty minutes later, another business on 33rd Street was robbed by two men matching the same description. Police say they escaped with cigarettes and cash.

A patrol car spotted the vehicle police believe was involved in the robberies and arrested the two men. Masks, weapons and stolen items were inside the automobile.

No one was hurt in the robberies.
