Saskatoon police are looking for suspects after a reported abduction on the city's west side Sunday morning turned out to be a hoax.

Officers were called to a home on the 300 block of Avenue T South shortly after 11 a.m. CST after a woman called and said she was being held against her will.

According to police, the caller claimed three men who were keeping her against her will were armed and had drugs.

After arriving on the scene and finding no abducted woman, the officers determined the call was a hoax.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-956-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The police say the incident tied up officer and other resources Sunday, and said in a written release that making a false complaint to police can constitute a criminal offence.
