Saskatoon police move prisoners to new headquarters

As of Friday morning, prisoners will now be kept in detention cells at new 25th Street building.

Prisoners are now being kept at the new Saskatoon Police headquarters on 25th street. (CBC News)

Prisoners will no longer be kept at  Saskatoon's old police headquarters on 4th avenue.

On Friday morning, police in the city moved prisoners who were being held in the force's detention cells in its old headquarters, to the cells at the new headquarters on 25th Street.

The recently constructed police building has 53 detention cells.

Saskatoon Police said it is currently moving officers over to the new building as well.
