Broken glass littered the ground outside a Saskatoon apartment building as police investigated an apartment shooting.
Police were called to an apartment complex on the 2700 block of 7th Street East at around 4 a.m. this morning, after residents heard gunshots.
The shots, which shattered a glass balcony wall and did other property damage, did not hit anyone inside.
While the gunshots entered at least two of the suites, it's believed only one of the suites was being targeted. Police aren't saying if the people inside the targeted apartment were known to police.
"I can't answer that at this point," police spokesperson Alyson Edwards said. "That would be part of the investigation and it would be too early on to say."
At least five or six shots were fired at the building, she said.
"We're so fortunate that no one was injured here," she said.
Police have received warrants and are currently searching the affected apartments. The investigation is ongoing.
