Police rescued a man who went into the fast-moving South Saskatchewan River Friday afternoon.
The man went into the water at the train bridge, Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services reported. Police and fire responded to the scene at 12:04 p.m.
The man tried to swim to shore, but within a short period of time, he travelled one-kilometre downstream. Officers were able to pull him to safety.
Saskatoon police don't yet know if the man jumped, fell or was pushed into the swollen river.
