The smell of deep fryers and the music of the Ferris wheel is in the air. The Saskatoon Ex is ready to begin.
Saskatoon's annual fair kicks off with a parade this morning through the city's downtown at 10 a.m. CST.
The parade will start at Spadina Crescent, travel west on 24th Street, loop around Friendship Park and travel north up Spadina Crescent.
Apart from the rides, this year's fair will include stunt crews, racing pigs and a lumberjack show, among many other attractions.
This year's grandstand will feature performances by Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, The Sheepdogs and Billy Talent. Johnny Reid will perform tonight at 8:30 p.m. CST.
