Workers give union a 97 per cent mandate after city rejects latest contract offer

Saskatoon bus drivers are in a position to go on strike.

Buses are still running today.

But a series of votes last night put the drivers in a position to walk off the job with 48 hours notice. The transit members gave the leadership a 97 per cent mandate to strike.

The workers have been without a contract since Dec. 31, 2012.

More to come.
