Saskatoon arsonist caught on tape

A backyard surveillance camera caught an arsonist in the act of starting a garage on fire inSaskatoon early this morning.

Investigators are poring over a videotape that captures an arsonist starting a garage fire this morning.

It happened just before 3 a.m. CST at 1009 Avenue K South.

The backyard camera shows a man pulling up to the garage in a minivan, getting out and then pouring a flammable liquid along the base of the garage door.

He then lights it, puts the container back in the van and leaves.

Crews had the fire under control in minutes. There were no injuries and damage is estimated at $2,000.

It was the third fire at the property this year.
