They're using Saskatchewan place names with a cheeky, sexy twist to help get a serious message across to young people in the province.

The project is called Wrap It Up!

Saskatoon's sexual health centre is now handing out thousands of condoms and packets of lubrication branded with humorous local slogans for example "Saskatoon, wanna spoon?" and "Regina the city that rhymes with fun."

"We are proud to be releasing this innovative initiative that makes condoms fun, sexy, and exciting" said Jillian Schwandt with the Sexual Health Centre in Saskatoon.

Cheeky yes, but with a serious message

The safe sex supplies come with sexual health information that can help young people make healthy choices to prevent unintended pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, Hepatitis C and HIV.

The packages will be available at more than 30 locations within the Saskatoon Health Regina, and they hope to distribute 100,000 condoms.

The Wrap It Up! Project involves Territorial, the Saskatoon Health Region, the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute, and OUTSaskatoon.
