Saskatoon’s road construction season is gaining momentum. With more money to spend this year rebuilding roads, it's sure to be a long summer for drivers.

This week, a major project begins at the very busy intersection of Idylwyld Drive and 51st Street. Crews will be going through the interchange ramp by ramp over the next 11 days.  Work will be going on around-the-clock to minimize the impact on drivers.

It’s just one of many road construction projects happening in the city. All the details can be found here.

Meanwhile, street sweepers continue moving through the neighbourhoods

City Hall said that street sweeping crews are making some good progress and that the city is “starting to look much better.”

That said, due to unforeseen challenges, some neighbourhoods were not completed.  So City Hall is extending the schedule. Even so, if the weather is nice, crews will finish the work earlier than in the past years, the city said.
