Riderville North brings Grey Cup party to city

While the official Grey Cup festival is in Regina, Saskatoon is hosting a party of its own.

Event to be held on Saturday at TCU Place

While the official Grey Cup festival is in Regina, Saskatoon is hosting a party of its own.

There will be no shortage of places to celebrate the Saskatchewan Roughriders march to the Grey Cup, but hundreds of people have already bought tickets to the Riderville North party.

Cynthia Block, chair of Riderville North, said the Riders berth in the Grey Cup makes it extra special.

"Honestly, we were going to have a great celebration in Rider Nation either way, but it makes it a storybook to be able to have the Riders playing in the Grey Cup at home and to be able to participate in this part of the province," Block said.

Block said there will be interactive games, Rider video tributes, and a number of bands will perform, including The Sheepdogs.

"Wear your green and white. Show off your Rider Pride. Get your face painted up," Block said.

Tickets to Riderville North are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The event is expected to sell out.
