The Ontario Medical Association says that employers should stop asking their staff for sick notes from doctors. 

The OMA says that needing a sick note to take time off could have a "discouraging effect" on workers who are ill and should be staying home. It also says that it puts strain on the medical system when people are taking up doctors' appointments just to get a note. 

But some employers say sick notes are important in making sure employees aren't abusing sick time policies. 

Saskatoon Morning asked its audience this morning whether employers in the city should continue asking for sick notes or should the practice cease to continue?
